Things are starting to heat up in prison camp. Madge and the Bird met recently and decided they have been far too leinient with their hostages and it may in fact be time for a show of power. As the “good cop” to Madge’s “bad cop” in this show, the Bird felt the message would greater felt coming from him instead of Madge so he chose his time carefully and enacted his plan on Sunday morning. Bird has been using sleep deprivation tactics on my wife and I over the past week, waking up every day between 4 and 5am by rolling over in his cage and waking himself up as I have mentioned in past cries for help. At first it was a single roll-over, then turned back and back to sleep. Now it’s become something far more sinister. He has gone from rolling over multiple times in a row while I’m standing over his crib to being put back the right way and waiting 10 minutes so I fall back into a sort of sleep and then doing it again. Clearly I have underestimated my captor once again. A horrifying and dastardly tactic, no doubt, but that is not where the bird stopped. On Sunday morning we began attempting to feed the Madge and the Bird rice cereal with a spoon and although we fully expected it to be a challenge, we did not expect the cereal feeding to spark a four hour marathon of screaming and crying from the Bird. That festival of terror which was Sunday only took momentary breaks throughout the day, just enough for the Bird to regain his energy for more screams. These torture programs implemented by Madge and the Bird have acheived their intended goal. My fellow hostage and I are being tested mentally and emotionally each day and have even become insane enough to be heard asking the Bird, “Why are you doing this?”. He is yet to answer, playing his hand close to the vest, but looking at Madge we feel like she may tell us something soon. Their tactics are clearly designed to turn the hostages against each other, but we are on to their plan and only curse each other out once or twice a day. It’s the small victories in life that you have to hold on to. If we survive tonights roll overs, we may show Madge and the Bird that we are not so easily broken. If we don’t survive, Bird has the password and login to my Blog and will let you all know.
